- Daypack: Carry a small backpack with sunscreen, repellent, and at least 3 liters of water.
- Clothing: Dress in layers. Include thermal clothing, a waterproof jacket, gloves, and a hat for the nighttime cold.
- Footwear: It is vital to use waterproof trekking boots that are already “broken in.”
- Local Respect: Interact with Quechua communities with consideration and respect for their culture.
The difficulty is similar, but the Lares Trek reaches higher altitudes. It is ideal for those who prefer open landscapes and fewer tourist groups.
Our team sets up toilet tents at the campsites. In local communities, facilities are basic.
We include a duffel bag so the horses can carry part of your personal gear. You only carry your daypack.
The dry season, from April to October, offers clear skies and better trail conditions.
Signal is almost non-existent during days 1 and 2. It is the perfect time for a total disconnect from technology.
