The Spiritual Heart of Cusco
- Qorikancha (Temple of the Sun): We begin the guided visit in the ancient temple dedicated to the god Inti. You will appreciate the impressive Inca engineering merged with the Convent of Santo Domingo. The guide will explain the political and religious importance of this sacred site. Its polished stone walls will amaze you with their millimetric perfection.
The 4 Surrounding Ruins
We will continue towards the upper part of the city to visit four fundamental archaeological complexes:
-
Sacsayhuamán: This majestic fortress stands out for its enormous stone blocks. Some weigh more than 100 tons and fit together with absolute precision. From here, you will enjoy a unique panoramic view of the entire city of Cusco.
-
Q'enqo: This ceremonial center was used for religious rituals. You will observe underground galleries and an altar carved into a giant rock. Its mystical atmosphere will transport you to the time of the Inca priests.
-
Tambomachay: Known as the "Temple of Water." Here you will see canals and ceremonial fountains that still maintain their constant flow of water. The Incas worshipped this vital element in this beautiful site.

Puca Pucara: An ancient military and administrative center. It functioned as a checkpoint and surveillance post for those entering the sacred city of Cusco.
