You will walk approximately 3 hours each way between Hydroelectric and Aguas Calientes. On the second day, you add the ascent and the tour within Machu Picchu.
There is a local train, but its schedules are limited and the cost for tourists is high. The essence of this tour is the hike along the railway.
We normally arrive between 09:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. Arrival time may vary based on traffic or weather conditions at the Málaga Pass.
The route is in the high jungle, so rain is common. You should always carry a rain poncho to protect yourself and continue the journey.
